2010 Community Service Award

What: Family Service is pleased to give its biannual Community Service Award to the volunteers of the Samaritans of Merrimack Valley on the occasion of their 30th anniversary.

Family Service, Inc. will be presenting The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley with a Commemorative Quilt at the Community Service Award event on October 14, 2010. We invite you to donate a personalized quilt square to remember or honor an individual or express a sentiment of your choice.

To donate a personalized quilt square, download the quilt form
and return your payment by August 2010. When we receive your tax-deductible payment, a staff member will be in touch to provide you with detailed instructions on completing the square.

MASS COALITION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION — NORTHEAST REGION LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST

When: September 17, 2010, 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m.
Where: Holy Family Auditorium, 70 East Street, Methuen MA 01844
What: The 4th Annual Leadership Breakfast of the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP)—Northeast Region, a collaboration of the The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley and Riverside Community Care. This year, we are honored to have Department of Public Health Commissioner John Auerbach as our key note speaker. Kevin Lambert, a veteran and team coordinator for the Statewide Advocacy for Veterans’ Empowerment (SAVE) Program will be our guest speaker. We will also recognize Senator Susan Tucker for her work in suicide prevention.

FAMILY FEVER – DANCE PARTY

When: November 12, 2010, 7:00 - 11:00 9.m.
Where: Chester’s at 60 Island Street, Lawrence
What: The FUN fundraiser will feature dancing, raffles, auctions, light fare and a good time for all. Event proceeds will benefit Family Service’s CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program. More details coming soon.

BOWL A STRIKE FOR KIDS

When: February 2010
Where: Pilgrim Lanes, Haverhill, MA
What: Family Service’s fundraiser to raise money for its mentoring programs. Anyone interested in supporting mentoring can make or join a team, raise money from friends and family, and bowl as a team on the night of the event. More details coming soon.

RHAPSODY GALA

When: May 6, 2010
Where: Andover Country Club
What: Family Service’s signature gala fundraiser to support all the programs and services offered by the agency. More details coming soon.
