Stand & Deliver recognizes the intelligence, talent and abilities of Lawrence Public School students and is determined to give them the support they need to reach their full academic potential. By providing one-on-one academic mentoring in partnership with some of the area’s most prestigious businesses, Stand & Deliver fills the gaps in knowledge, skills and support that students need to pass the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exam required for high school graduation in the state of Massachusetts.
The primary mission of Stand & Deliver is to elevate MCAS “pass rates” and “proficiency levels” in the Lawrence Public Schools up to those of other top schools in the state. Once students have succeeded, Stand & Deliver is able to enroll students in their college-bound and Advanced Placement programs.
Prior to 2010, Stand & Deliver operated as an independent 501 (c)(3) under the name “Lawrence Partners in Education”. In 2010, Stand & Deliver joined Family Service, where it benefits from a deeper connection to related mentoring programs and social services.
Stand & Deliver currently partners with New Balance, Philips Medical, Raytheon and (soon to be Pfizer starting in January). New corporate partners are always welcome.
