When any person, young or old, stays in their “comfort zone”, they often fail to grow or realize new possibilities. Family Service’s Project Venture program makes sure that does not happen to the kids who participate this program.
Through outdoor adventure, physical and mental challenge games, and experiential education, Project Venture pushes young people to go out of their comfort zones and achieve things they didn’t previously think possible.
Project Venture is operated at Family Service in 8-week cohorts in the fall, winter and spring. Participants must be in 6th - 9th grade. Referrals are accepted from youth, parents, teachers, case workers or any other person who thinks Project Venture would be beneficial for a young person.
Project Venture has been generously funded by the Highland Street Foundation, the Greater Lawrence Summer Fund, and the New Balance Foundation.
