The Family Service Counseling Center, licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, provides professional mental health and substance abuse counseling to the Greater Lawrence community. Family Service is deeply committed to supporting individuals, couples, families, and children through our mental health counseling, psychiatric consultation, and various support groups.

The counseling staff is composed of a psychiatrist, psychologists, and master's level social workers and mental health professionals. The Family Service staff can help you and your family with issues such as:

• Depression and anxiety
• Alcohol and other substances
• Relationship problems
• Stress
• Separation and divorce
• Loss
• Difficulties at work/school

Depending on availability, services are provided in Spanish as well as English.

INSURANCE COVERAGE & HOURS

Most of the clinical services are reimbursable through health insurance. Family Service is a provider for the following insurances as well as many others:

• Blue Cross/Blue Shield
• Children's Medical Security Plan
• Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
• HMO Blue
• MassHealth (MBHP, Network Health, Neighborhood Health)
• Tufts Health Plans

Through the generous support of the United Way of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley, a sliding fee is available. The fee is based on family size and income.

The Family Service Counseling Center's hours of operation are:

• Monday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Tuesday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Wednesday 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
• Thursday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
