woman comforting someoneThe Frameworks Suicide Prevention Project is a community-wide suicide prevention program. Through a collaboration with NAMI NH, the Mass. Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP), the MSCP Northeast Regional Coalition, the MA Department of Public Health and the Haverhill Community Violence Coalition, this project has been implemented with great success in Haverhill, MA. The goal of this Project is to train an entire community to respond competently in an integrated way to suicidal events.

This program was chosen because (1) it can be adapted to regional and cultural differences; (2) it can be adapted to cover the entire lifespan; (3) it is a best-practice model; (4) Frameworks covers all aspects of suicides- prevention, intervention and postvention; and (5) Frameworks is a self-sustaining suicide prevention program through its Train-the-Trainer approach.

To date, we have trained over 300 participants including parents, teachers, police, clergy, physicians and more. We have also trained 21 Master Trainers. To learn more about Frameworks and how it might help your community, school, etc., please call Debbie Helms at 978-327-6671.
