VOLUNTEER TESTIMONIALS “Becoming a CASA gave me a whole education on the problems facing many families, the difficulties of navigating the social service system, and perhaps most of all, the plight of struggling children. I learned quickly that having a CASA looking out for a child keeps the parties in the child’s life more focused and attentive to the child’s needs. It will be both a challenge and a learning experience for all who commit to be a CASA, and an experience that will enrich their lives.” -Kevin B., CASA Volunteer two years
“Being a CASA gives you the opportunity to really make a difference in a child’s life. I have been able to help a brother and sister keep in contact when they have been living in separate places. Sometimes they call me when they are unable to contact each other or when they have exciting news. They feel a sense of trust with another person which is so important in their difficult lives. Having a CASA gives them hope in a confusing world.” -Nancy Kaelin, CASA Volunteer for nine years
“HELPING CHILDREN IN NEED” -Don Neuman, CASA Volunteer eight years
“Starting ten years ago I trained to be a CASA volunteer. After completing the training I realized that following through with a case was going to be too emotional for me. I committed my time to CASA in the form of volunteering for the office staff. It was a rewarding time for me. Ten years later, I decided I was ready for the task of taking on a case for CASA. My time involved supporting this case does not compare to what these children go through. I am thrilled to have made the decision to make a difference – one child at a time. Accomplishing what needs to be done can not be done without the very supportive staff working with the volunteers, and the men and women who volunteer their time; a great group of selfless people. I am so glad to be associated with all of them.” -Lisa Fitzgerald, CASA Volunteer ten years
“I have done volunteer work for more than thirty years, and nothing has been more meaningful than my last year as a CASA. If you are ready to put your brain and heart on the line in the service of desperate and deserving children, their lives – as well as your own – will be vastly enriched.” -Maureen Gottfried, CASA Volunteer one year
“A teen under a Care and Protection especially needs someone with whom he/she can rely upon. As an adolescent, they have to rebel and do not tend to act in their own best interest. Someone must remember that they are kids. A CASA volunteer is that person.” -Cathy Greene, CASA Volunteer, two years
