EAP Supervisor Training Supervisors are taught the differences between job performance problems and personal problems. Your organization’s policies on performance evaluation and discipline are reviewed. Participants are instructed on making appropriate referrals to the EAP. This session is one of the Core Components of the EAP.
Effective Communication for Supervisors This session examins the fundamental elements of communication and focuses on building the key skills you need to communicate successfully. It gives tips for choosing the right communication method and explains other important factors that may impact effectiveness.
Managing Organizational Change Participants learn about the psychological aspects of change and how apply these concepts to the organization. Supervisors are encouraged to become managers of change rather than allowing haphazard reactions by their organization.
Promoting Safety and Communication at the Workplace Introduces participants to concepts on safety and conflict resolution. They learn to assess their workplace and work style in order to reduce risk. Participants also learn about anger management and violence prevention.
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Participants learn the workplace definition of sexual harassment. They learn to understand the key concepts regarding harassment that will help them create a harassment-free environment. They will also learn to identify the cause and effect of sexual harassment in the workplace, how to assess a possible sexual harassment situation, and determine the appropriate way to respond.
Trauma Prevention Training Participants are educated on the psychological and physical responses to traumatic incidents. Workplace trauma responses are normalized in an effort to prepare supervisors in the event of a traumatic incident. This session is especially useful in “at-risk settings” such as banks.
Anger Management Provides an understanding of the psychological process of anger, the positive and negative functions of anger, and a framework for appropriate expression/management of anger.
Balancing Work and Family Life Looks at importance of prioritizing activities based on life goals, setting effective limits on demands for your time, managing transition times and general coping techniques.
Coping with Change Examines the stages associated with change, physical and emotional responses, specific effects of workplace change on the individual, and coping techniques.
Communication in Interpersonal Relationships Explores common relationship roadblocks and provides tools for improving communication skills.
Effective Communication with Difficult People Provide information on finding common ground for communication, recognizing personality types and matching communicating techniques accordingly and handling manipulation.
Healthy Living Examines how to achieve a healthy lifestyle. This session provides an understanding of energy balance, the food pyramid, and nutrition labels. Properly measuring and controlling portions will also be covered.
How to Manage Your Time More Effectively Provides a system for analysis of current use of time, how to plan effectively, tips for handling self-generated and environmental time wasters.
Stress Management Defines stress and its general causes, examines sources of workplace stress, looks at symptoms and provides a range of coping techniques.
Team Building and Leadership Development Looks at importance of team building for productivity. The session provides opportunity for self-assessment and group activities to encourage a coherent objective for team goals and develop individual leadership potential.
