Adult and Child Psychiatrist
Family Service, Inc. is seeking an MD for the position of Medical Director of the Counseling Center. This position is a contracted, part-time (six hours a week) position.
The ideal candidate will be a Massachusetts licensed medical doctor who is currently certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or is eligible and applying
for such certification. The Medical Director will demonstrate cultural competence with an ability to work with diverse populations, within the community and with agency
staff members.
The Medical Director is responsible for medical aspects of the care provided by the agency through participation with the clinical team in diagnosis, assessment, treatment
planning and review, consultation with the clinical team on the overall treatment program, and by direct service to the client when indicated. The Medical Director is also responsible
for establishing all medical policies and protocols. In addition the Medical Director shall:
Be available to see up to fifteen to eighteen clients during a five-hour period.
Be a part of a multi disciplinary team that will conduct case conference meetings at regularly scheduled intervals to review all clinic cases.
Participate in coordinating the agency's relationship with hospitals and other community service providers.
Provide on call coverage to staff by telephone when available.
Offer supervision and consultation to the staff.
Review written medical materials for each client of the clinic.
At times, provide in service training to the staff.

CASA Guardian ad Litem
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in court. Volunteers receive a high level of training and support. No special experience is required.

Samaritan Crisis Line
The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley rely on volunteers who help those in crisis. People from all walks of life are trained by Samaritans to offer support and caring for those who are lonely, despairing or suicidal. Trainings are held throughout the year.
